Community Helpers Student Club

Community Helpers Club is a Student Led Club at S.K.I.L.L.S Private Academy in Sierra Vista Arizona. S.K.I.L.L.S is an acronym for Special Kids, Individualized Learning , Life Skills. The club members seek to make a difference in the world in many aspects, and do so through holding bi-weekly meetings to brainstorm projects, discuss issues in the communitys, and how they can lessen the impact by providing a service. The Club is facilitated by Ms. Nicole Johnston but the students are the hearts and minds behind each project and Idea. The Children have organized volunteer services, Donation drives, explored volunteer opportunities, and put boots onthe ground by developing Projects close to their hearts.

We have short term and long term inititatives, such as learning to volunteer at the Animal Shelter or Salvation Army, hosting Car Washes, Collecting School Supplies, Providing In Kind Donations to Banner Childrens Oncology, Community Cleanup, collecting and distributing school supplies to the needy, food for local food banks,as well as growing a natural garden, including Loofah plants to produce natural Soap, Lotions and Lip Balm to distribute to individuals living in Shelters. We are also raising funds to build a Well for Fresh Water in Adaklu Kpetsu, Ghana.
